Most of the instruments will 
also give you the data in table 
format listing the distance 
from the lens center and the 
dioptric or millimeter curvature.  
This can be useful for research 
purposes or transferring the 
data to other programs but is 
not very useful in visualizing 
what the corneal shape looks 
like.  This is why the color maps 
were developed.
